Ushirombo-Lusahunga Road
Tanzania
Paving the way for new opportunities
Well-developed roads create connections, facilitate the movement of people and goods and support economic growth. This is precisely the goal of the improvement of the Ushirombo-Lusahunga section. As part of the Isaka-Lusahunga Road, the 110-kilometre stretch was renewed to modern bitumen standard, ensuring it is ready to meet future demands.
The existing roadway and road-crossing section were comprehensively upgraded and widened. A bitumen-sealed asphalt concrete surface provides a durable and modern pavement designed to improve road performance and longevity. New concrete pipes and box culverts were installed along the route, while the drainage system was rehabilitated. Together, these measures help the road accommodate everyday traffic while effectively managing water runoff and weather-related challenges.
