Metro Riyadh, Underground Stations 1B2, 1C3, 1C4, 1D2

At the end of 2016, DYWIDAG Saudi Arabia was awarded the contract for the civil works for four underground metro stations in Riyadh. The project comprised the civil works, including concrete, steel and formworks, for the stations 1B2, 1C3, 1C4 and 1D2. The outer wall (75 cm thick) was cast with one-sided formwork against natural ground by using special climbing formwork.
 
The construction period was originally scheduled for 20 months, with completion by July 2018.
 
The dimensions of each station are 135 m x 25 m x 28 m. A total of 148,600 m³ of concrete and 29,700 tonnes of steel were installed.
