The new port facility located approx. 60 km from Abu Dhabi replaces the existing Mina Zayed port in the centre of Abu Dhabi.
The construction of an offshore seaport with onshore facilities and industrial zone located at Taweelah consisted of Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning and Maintenance of buildings for one part of the new port. This section of the port connects the mainland with the container terminal and has a length of 4 km. It contains the entire infrastructure necessary for the port’s operation.
The scope of works comprised the erection of 25 buildings such as the 5-storey control building, several small administration buildings, a hospital, a mosque, a fire station, several warehouses and the entire infrastructure. The overall plot area of this contract is 1,685,106 m², buildings in concrete construction of 43,122 m², built-up area and steel structures of 42,815 m².
