Upgrading of Sinaw-Mahoot-Duqm Road

Strengthening a Key Transport Corridor in Oman

The upgrade of Section 2 of the Sinaw-Mahoot-Duqm Road enhances the transport connection between the Ash Sharqiah and Al Wusta governorates in Oman. The project involved the construction of a 117-kilometre asphalt road running parallel to the existing route, improving accessibility, safety and travel efficiency across the region.

Designed to support long-term regional development, the project included not only the new roadway but also essential infrastructure and utility provisions. The robust pavement structure was developed to meet demanding environmental and traffic conditions while ensuring reliable operation and durability. 

Scope of Work

• Construction of 117 km of new asphalt road 
• Earthworks and pavement construction, including subgrade and base layers 
• Construction of box culverts and drainage structures 
• Installation of ducts for future water, electricity and telecommunications services 
• Installation of safety barriers, road signs and road markings 
• Construction of road lighting systems along the route
