Rehabilitation of Wehra Asphalt Concrete Reservoir

Rehabilitation of the existing upstream side sealing of the dam embankment and new construction of a controlled sealing. In addition to the asphalt hydraulic engineering, the contract also includes works such as sediment clearance in the reservoir, concrete renovation, anti-corrosion protection measures, etc.
 
Rehabilitation and improvement of the aged and damaged asphalt concrete sealing as well as new construction of an additional drainage and sealing layer including the connections to the existing concrete structures.
 
Besides the inclination of 1:1.75 a special challenge is also the removal of asbestos within the existing sealing as well as the water retention on the embankment.

  • Milling-off the existing upper asphalt sealing (1-2 cm): 15,500 m²
  • Installation of a new 10 cm asphalt drainage layer: 15,500 m²
  • Installation of a new 8 cm asphalt sealing: 15,500 m²
