Dualisation of the Ibri-Ad Dariz-Miskin Road
Oman
More capacity for a growing transportation corridor
The upgrade of an existing singly carriageway to a dual carriageway created a high-capacity transport corridor extending 34 kilometres with a width of 33,90 metres along the existing road alignment. Passing through a densely populated urban area, the route connects Ibri, Dariz and Miskin, enhancing regional mobility and traffic flow.
Five roundabouts, seven ventilated water crossings, vehicular and pedestrian underpasses were created, as well as drainage structures and protection works. Extensive earthworks were carried out, followed by the construction of granular and bituminous pavement layers. These works created a robust road network capable of meeting increasing transport demands while reinforcing the street network across the Ad Dhahirah Governorate.
