Construction Project Of The 3rd Axis Of Development Set H – Konovo Tunnel

Slovenia

GENERAL DATA
The construction of a state road is planned for the Carinthia road connection. Part of this state road is a four-lane road between the Velenje south junction and the Slovenj Gradec south junction (hereinafter: four-lane road), with a length of 17.5 km, and the two-lane connecting road N1 between Konovo and the Škale junction (hereinafter: connecting road ), 1.9 km long. On the two-lane connecting road N1 between Konovo and the intersection Škala, the construction of the Konovo tunnel is planned.
Konovo tunnel is a single-tube two-way tunnel that allows a designed speed of 70 km/h. It has two driving lanes 3.25 m wide, an intermediate lane 0.50 m wide and side lanes 0.35 m wide on both sides. The tunnel passes from the station of the connecting road of profile D23-15, station . from km 0+266.09 to profile D23-39 station . km 0+763.42. The length of the tunnel with portal facilities is 497.33 m.

TECHNICAL ELEMENTS OF THE TUNNEL
The tunnel is 497.33 m long and is intended for two-way traffic. In the tunnel there are 18 audit niches, one electrical niche, two emergency call boxes and one emergency call niche. On the plateau in front of the tunnel on the northern portal, a power plant is planned to power the tunnel's lighting system during operation.

WORK PERFORMANCE METHODOLOGY
On the basis of the geological-geomechanical report, the excavation is carried out mechanically in accordance with the principles of NATM (New Austrian Methods ). The same is true in portal areas, in low coverage, and in the area of tectonite zones. Excavation is carried out from the north side in order to reduce the costs of mobilizing the construction site on both portals. The tunnel breakthrough will be carried out in the immediate vicinity of the southern portal, and it will be necessary to excavate a certain shorter distance on the southern side.

The excavation profile of the tunnel pipe is generally divided into a shaft, a step and a supporting vault. Hill classification or girder types are designed according to the proposal of the Austrian norm ÖNORM B2203-1 for cyclic tunnel construction. In the plan, we use the provisions of the specified standard as informative. Information documents for understanding the matrix system are also ÖGG guidelines. Subgrade elements in the tunnel and on the portals ensure the stability of the excavation.
