Gladnjici Tunnel section from the Mravince junction to the TTTS junction
Croatia
GENERAL DATA
The Gladnjici road tunnel is part of the construction of a section of new infrastructure, the Trogir - Omiš expressway, from the Mravince junction to the TTTS junction, which serves as an eastern bypass for Solin and Split and facilitates the flow of traffic before entering the urban areas of Solin and Split. Together with the state road D1 (Solin - Klis section), it is connected to the A1 highway and represents an important part of the road network of the Split agglomeration.
TECHNICAL ELEMENTS OF THE TUNNEL
The Gladnjici Tunnel is designed with two tunnel tubes; the left tunnel tube is 388 m long, while the right tunnel tube is 340 m long. The cross-section of the tunnel has been selected to ensure a free profile height of 4.5 m, while the height of the tunnel from the finished level of the roadway superstructure to the crown of the arch is 6.85 m.
CONSTRUCTION METHOD
The tunnel is being excavated using the NATM method. Depending on the geological properties of the ground, the excavation will mainly be carried out in rock categories IV and V, with the planned TYPE 4 and TYPE 5 substructures (reinforcement mats, steel lattice arches, rock bolts, shotcrete). After completion of the tunnel excavation, work will continue on the sealing layer, the drainage and sewage systems, the reinforced concrete tunnel lining, the roadway structure and the installation of the tunnel equipment and signaling.
