Enhancing urban traffic through strategic road infrastructure
Extending across approximately 8,7 kilometres in Muscat, this infrastructure project upgrades the 18th of November Street and Al Mouj Road, two of the capital’s most important traffic corridors. The scheme improves joints to Muscat International Airport, the Sultan Qaboos Highway and the Muscat Expressway.
Project activities involve widening the 18th of November Street to three lanes in each direction. Additional measures consist of new flyovers, underpasses and light-controlled traffic junctions. STRABAG Oman acts as the general contractor and is responsible for selected planning services. The construction work takes place while traffic remains in operation. Complex traffic management and temporary detours ensure continuous mobility throughout the 30-month construction period starting January 2026.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lean Management reinforce coordination, efficiency and quality. With a contract volume of around 102 million euros, the construction project represents another significant milestone for STRABAG International in Oman and underlines the Group’s expertise in the successful implementation of urban transportation infrastructure.
