The Link Sewers for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) forms part of Singapore’s used water management infrastructure. It is a cost-efficient and sustainable solution tailored to meet Singapore’s long-term needs for used water collection, treatment, reclamation and discharge. The DTSS comprises a 206-kilometre-long underground network that conveys used water entirely gravity-based. Phase 2 consists of 40 kilometres of deep tunnels and 47 kilometres of link sewers joining the network to the “Tuas Water Reclamation Plant”.

Three link sewer contracts with a total length of 14,6 kilometres were completed by ZÜBLIN, representing approximately 31 % of the overall DTSS link sewer scheme. The work required 99 temporary shafts with depths of up to 50,8 metres, 91 permanent manholes and the construction of sewer pipelines.

As a result, Singapore’s long-term water infrastructure has been enhanced as this project contributes to sustainable responsible water management for 100 years.
