Underground Mining Expertise in Northern Chile

The Candelaria Copper Mining Complex consists of two neighbouring copper mining operations near Copiapó in Chile’s Atacama Region, approximately six hundred and fifty kilometres north of Santiago. The complex produces copper concentrates from both open-pit and underground mines. 

Since 2005, ZÜBLIN Chile has been responsible for operating the Candelaria Norte underground mine under a general management contract. Over nearly two decades, the company has built up extensive expertise and a highly qualified workforce with a strong commitment to safety. This experience has enabled monthly advance rates of up to one thousand two hundred metres, supported by an average workforce of approximately eight hundred and fifty employees.
