Candelaria Norte Project

The Candelaria Copper Mining Complex compromises two adjacent copper mining operations that produce copper concentrates from open pit and underground mines located near Copiapó in Atacama Province, Region III of Chile, approximately 650 kilometres north from Santiago.
 
ZÜBLIN Chile has been operating the Candelaria Norte underground mine under a general management contract since 2005, specifically mine maintenance and operation services, which include preparations for production blasting, maintenance of ore stockpiles and removal of unbreakables, maintenance of roads and maintenance of the mine’s stamping programme. The experience acquired in these years brings a committed and qualified human team with a strong sense of safety, which has allowed us to reach 1,200 metres of monthly advance with an average of 850 workers.
The scope of works include tunnelling, drilling, production blasting, mining, sublevel stoping, raise boring and transport of minerals and non-minerals.
